This is my wrap-up of everything I read/watched/wrote/listened to this month that I thought you might enjoy!
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
I’ve been writing a lot, so I shared a lil update on the projects I worked on in April
I also shared an essay on why I’ve been writing a lot
Everyone’s talking about knotting right now, so this month’s Monster Vibes Only is all about monster romance’s very good boys (and girls)
Giving It To Charity is FINALLY available in paperback! Having a physical copy in my hands makes all the difference 🥰
SONG OF THE MONTH:
BOOK OF THE MONTH:

Listen. Ok. LISTEN!!!! I want to live inside this book so fucking bad you have no idea. The main character Maggie, aka Peach, is a human working in a luxury alien sex club, specifically in the automated alien gloryhole. She gets to choose her partners based just on their appendages, a robot protects her from having her boundaries violated, she has covered alien healthcare and luxurious accommodations on the space shuttle, and she gets to find true love. There’s glow-in-the-dark jizz, tentacles, weird peens, and a very robust tipping scheme. Like literally what else do you need?
OTHER CONTENDERS:
The Fallen Empire fantasy romance series by Grace Draven
The entire Eldritch Romance novella series by Angelica Oaks, but especially Chosen by the Elder God and Captured by the Sea Monster
Monster’s Find by Leann Ryans - a monster omegaverse novella
Checkmated by Harmony Fuller - an adorable FF werewolf romance
Don’t Flirt with Demons by Grace McGinty - a cute demon roadtrip romance
A Monstrous Love by Magen Cube - a spooky sapphic short story anthology
MAY BIBLIOGRAPHY:
Omegaverse, knotting, and werewolves seem to be on the collective brain and therefore all my algorithms wanted to talk to me about:
Sarah at Monthly Musings turned one of my favorite IG memes of hers into a zine about the Werewolf Pipeline for uninitiated readers
Trinity at Sword & Spice explained exactly what knotting is and brought a much better emoji for describing it to my attention
Alyssa at Romancing the Phone discussed the rise of wolves in romantasy and popular booktok book
I finally read this resonant defense of writing omegaverse on Rebecca’s Threads of Gold
I also finally watched the iconic Lindsay Ellis video about the famous omegaverse lawsuit lore
And then my algorithm then showed me Rowan Ellis's great breakdown of the history and queer meaning of omegaverse
I watched the Netflix documentary series CHEER as research for my own omegaverse project 📣
Monster Romance Reviews shared some deets about an exciting new digital book box! They’re really close to 1k subscribers so you should check them out!
This article shares a lot of really cool free-to-use photos to use instead of A.I.
In the pop culture space, I learned a lot of the lore around Addison Rae that I didn’t even know existed. And I also finally got an explanation of what happened to One Direction.
I discovered the incredible culture critic Lani’s Lens and have been binge-watching her videos. Some other fave black YouTube essayists include Khadija Mbowe, Shanspeare, Friendly Space Ninja, and Camryn Suzanne
IN OTHER NEWS:
I officially have FOUR projects in the pipeline to be published in the next year or so. Two Date Night anthologies and one fairytale monster romance novella!!!
MAY LORE:
I have recently discovered the wonder and joy of seeing old movies in theatres. I saw a sing-along Mama Mia! for Mother’s Day with my mom this month, and last month I saw Pride & Prejudice in theatres for its 20th anniversary. The tickets are closer to what movie prices were like when I was a kid and it’s just really fun to revisit classics on the big screen. 10/10 recommend!
And that’s that on that. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a very full bush bikini June.
